Double-Take® Backup monitors changes to protected files and replicates only the bytes that change. You can replicate to a disaster recovery site (over standard IP networks) for maximum protection against data loss. The recovery process can account for a variety of differences between the original source and recovery server, prohibit incompatible differences, and warn the user of possible performance degradations after recovery.
After a baseline image has been created the Double-Take® Backup Agent captures all changes to the data or its associated meta-data, as it is made to the file system on the data server. The agent transmits the changes to the repository, where they are indexed and stored. By capturing all changes made in this way Double-Take® Backup enables you to “travel” back to any point-in-time.
